So Far, So Good

I've been looking forward to writing this post today. It's been a good week and I can't wait to tell you about it. I've been doing some experimenting, had some victories, and I am now an inventor. And I lost another pound or so.

Since this gluten-free aspect is new I'm checking out g-f products. I hate cooking breakfast -- cereal or oatmeal or something equally easy is about as much "cooking" as I want to do. I have discovered Van's Waffles and they are quite tasty. I didn't miss one iota of gluten (and no, they're not paying me). Pop 'em in the toaster and top 'em off with your usual additions, or cut up some fruit, or even have them plain (they come in blueberry and apple cinnamon too!).

Finding a delectable g-f product was one victory, but there were others:
  • NO BREAD CROSSED MY LIPS AT OLIVE GARDEN! Really?? Really! I was just as shocked as you are.
  • Hummus is actually good with celery. Who knew? I thought Stacey's Pita Chips were the only accompaniment allowed.
  • I swam laps while The Husband was running an errand that was supposed to only take 30 minutes (the length of time I generally swim) but took 45-60 instead. I swam the entire time. It shocked the shit outta me when he told me how long he had been gone.
  • I'm consistently leaving food on my plate because I'm full. I'm becoming satisfied with less.
I'm still listening to my Slimpod and I can tell a difference in my energy level, my attitude and my actions (no bread at Olive Garden, for cryin' out loud!!). I believe it's helping. I'm not tempted to cheat, I'm exercising regularly, and my energy level is good. Honestly, adjusting to this new lifestyle has been much easier than I thought it would be, and the only thing I can credit is the Slimpod, because this kind of consistency isn't part of my MO.

Finally, I invented something this past week. It's tons of fun and, hopefully, a good workout. I created POOL DANCING! You, too, can experience this fabulousness. All you need is a pool and some music. The Husband asked if I wanted to join him in the pool a couple of days ago. I cranked up the music and hopped in the shallow end. A song came on that I liked and I danced -- prancing around in the shallow end, swinging my arms around. He looked at me a little crazy, but it was fun! I varied the steps and arm movements, or moved forward and backward using the water as resistance. And, after several songs, I felt like I had dome some work. Send me $19.95 (plus S&H) and I will sell you your very own Pool Dancing Franchise. But wait, there's more! You will also received increased stamina, a huge smile on your face and a sweat-free exercise session (you're in water, remember?). Remember, it's not $39.95 or even $29.95. All this can be yours for a paltry $19.95 (plus S&H)!

So, Monday Morselers, there you have it! It's been a good week.
