My Body Manifesto

A little background....I'm 55 years old and about 80 pounds overweight. I have tried every diet known to man, beginning with Weight Watchers at 12 years old. I received numerous messages from a variety of people (including myself) throughout my lifetime that my body wasn't OK. I gave that story a lot of validation and power. I'm taking back my power and creating a new story.

I Believe that.....

I am more than my body.
My body does not determine or define my worth. I have many skills and talents that have everything to do with my spirit, creativity and knowledge, and nothing to do with my body.

I am a Spiritual Being having a human experience.
As a Spiritual Being, I am perfect, whole and complete -- just as I am -- body, mind and spirit. My life is God's gift to me; what I do with it is my gift to God.

I am a part of the Whole, and the Whole is part of me.
When I separate myself from Love, I feel lonely. When I separate myself from my body, I reach for unhealthy things. When I separate myself from meaning and purpose, I am mired in boredom and numbness. My job is to do my part: stay connected, be present, and to do the best I can in any situation. Doing my part is my responsibility; The Universe honors my effort by filling in the gaps.

I am right where I'm supposed to be.
Every experience has lead me to this point. I can learn from my past, but I don't have to live there and it doesn't have to determine my future. Every choice I make will either lead me toward my goal or away from it. The gift of resistance tells me what to move toward, because I know that what lies beneath it will change my life forever.

Have you created a manifesto for yourself?

Have you been there?

P.S. I created a poster to keep this intention plain sight! Feel free to print and enjoy!
